Alex Watters graduated from Morningside in 2009 with a degree in political science. While on campus, he was very active serving in leadership roles both for student government and as a member of the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity. After graduating from Morningside, he obtained his master's in negotiation and dispute resolution, completed an internship at the U.S. Department of Education in Washington D.C., and became heavily involved in national and local political campaigns. He has worked at Morningside since 2014 and has held a range of positions including being a first-year advisor and most recently the director of talent and community engagement. In addition to his work at Morningside, he serves on the city council for Sioux City and is a total foodie!
As the director of alumni engagement, Alex strives to provide opportunities for Morningside alumni of all generations to connect with each other, with our current students, and with the university as a whole. Whether it's an email, a chat over the phone, or grabbing a cup of coffee, Alex wants to hear from you and continue to support our amazing alumni.

In an effort to respond to the needs of our alumni while maintaining high-quality connections, Morningside University has established an Alumni Ambassadors program within the Alumni Association. The Ambassadors program is by-application and exists to create a pool of active alumni who are from geographically diverse locations and a wide variety of backgrounds to assist in the creation and support of Morningside University alumni programming.
Have a new job? Recently married? Class notes are a great way to stay in the loop when it comes to Morningside alumni. Let us know any big news and remember to check the Class Notes section of The Morningsider to see what all your former classmates are up to.
The Morningsider is Morningside's alumni magazine, and it features stories from alumni, students, and friends of the university along with recent news and class notes. The print version of the Morningsider is delivered in the fall and spring of the academic year, and an email version, the Morningsider Lite, is sent between print issues.
